About Paul J. Pisani C.P.T. :

              Paul started his tennis career at age 19 while taking a break from competitive road cycling.  Under the toutelage of Michael Starke (www.tennisctr.com)  he began playing at Binghamton University and then onto Santa Barbara Junior College.  Before tennis, Paul was a competitive cyclist, riding on such teams as 7-Eleven, Team LeMond, Team Toga and many others.  During his 7 years of racing he went on to win 8 Gold Medals in New York's prestigous Empire State Games and win over 50 Pro 1 and 2 cycling events.  He was coached by legendary coach Lenny Preheim, and was lucky enough to ride along side of Olympian and US Pro Champion Jonas Carney and Team Discovery's George Hincapie.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

A lifetime involvement in competitive sports, including participation, administration, and promotion. Qualifications include Category 1 rating as a USCF cyclist, with member of several collegiate and club tennis teams, and Head Coach of several high school tennis teams. Personally trained and coached all levels of tennis players and athletes, from beginner level to Olympic level. .

* Extensive athletic background, including scholastic involvement in cross-country, track, cycling, and racquetball.

* Winner of 8 Gold Medals in NY’s prestigious Empire State Games Cycling Events – youngest winner (18) of Senior Men’s 98 miles Road Race, Team Time Trial, Team and Best Overall Rider.

* NY District Cycling Champion 4 times.

* Northeast Collegiate Cycling Invitational Champion, Drew University, 1991

* Won more than 100 races as a junior and senior Cat. 1 cyclist.

* Member of 7-Eleven Cycling Team, Chemical Bank Cycling Team, Toga Cycling, and Bicycle Doctor Cycling Team

* Played Varsity Tennis for SUNY Binghamton and Santa Barbara Junior College

* Ifafitness Certification in Personal Training - C.P.T.

Used expertise and personal experience to successfully organize, develop, teach and manage tennis events, clinics and private lessons.

Assistant Tennis Pro, Binghamton Tennis Center

Worked under Michael Starke, owner and Head Tennis Professional and Head Coach of Binghamton University Men’s Tennis Team.

Oversaw and directed:

Junior Summer Camps for beginners and advanced players

Taught private lessons to adults and juniors.

Sold merchandise and strung racquets in Pro Shop.

ATP and WTA Tennis Professional coaching background:

Trained on and off the court. Jobs include - Strength training, cardio training, massage and stretching, as well as tennis strategy, stroke production, mental toughness, and match play.

 

Successfully worked with world ranked tennis professionals on the ATP Tour and the WTA Tour. Coordinated training sessions with other tennis players, drilled player on court, off-court training in the weight room with weights, track and bicycle, off court mental toughness training and on-court, one on one, tennis training consisting of strokes and strategy.

Robby Ginepri – Ranking improved from 80 to 48; Quarterfinalist of Super Nine Events in Miami and Indian Wells. Most Improved Player 2005 Winner of Indianapolis, Semifinalist of USOpen.

Ashley Harkleroad – Semifinalist Family Circle Cup, Charelston, SC.

Zack Fleishman – Improved ranking from 390 to 203 in one year; finalist Torrance, CA $50,000 Challenger

Emin Agaev – Improved ranking from 360 to 240; semis Alkmar Holland Future, winner Mobile, AL Future

Travis Rettenmeir – Improved ranking from 950 to 563; Winner 2002 Jack Kramer Holiday Classic, Singles, semifinalist Canada and Mexico futures.

Marissa Irvin – Improved ranking from 140 to 80. 2003: 15 match win streak; including two 50k Challenger Victories and French Open Third Round.
